Devlog 7
This will most likely be the last devlog as I have pretty much finished the game, all that is really left is to do some voice acting to spread around a couple levels and to make the different screens for when its paused and such. in this little adventure I had with the gameguru max engine I have put in around 23 hours and a few more when I worked in gimp and blender. I had a pleasant time using this engine and I really don't agree with the reviews it has outlying that its a bad engine, The engine is a wip and in early access so it will obviously have bugs and run odd sometimes but the main arguement that I see is that you cant make a game which is completely false, when reading through the steam reviews there were numerous people complaining that you can't make a game with this software but they only ever had 10 hours max in the engine which is more than enough time to complete a simple level. The software was designed to make it so everyone can make a game no matter your experience and I believe that is true i can easily give this software to someone and they can make a small town with enemies and when you reach the other end of it the game ends, I think that the people who are mad about this software believe that it is meant to be an easy access way to making a triple A title that will sell like skyrim or call of duty and thats simply not true. Personally I will most likely continue to use this software and put them into my portfolio as finished projects or WIP and use it to make a basic premise for a game that I may want to create in unity or unreal. Now that I am done with the ranting here's a couple screenshots from the last 2 levels i worked on.
